Nana na na na na nana na na na na Batman!

Andrew Bird's Mysterious production of eggs is now the official soundtrack of PR. I have probably listened to that album over 100 times during the course of this. The thing is, it's still good. amazing.

I finished the bat house -

This is looking at it straight on - tomorrow it will be covered with black rubber for heat and mounted on a 15' pole. I drew a bat on there with a Sharpie so the bats know it's for them. Hopefully. The black along the edges is a roofing tar to seal it all up. It's important that this thing retain heat for the little guys. They like heat. That's why they're always hiding underneath the eaves of people's attics - constant warm air source. Here's a shot looking up from the bottom -

The grey stuff is an insect screen. The plywood is too smooth for them to climb up or hang from so I stapled that on there so they can get a grip.

A colony should be able to populate this and roost (according to the pennsylvania wildlife dept.) This wasn't my design so we'll see...
