tough to say from pictures but i would guess that your purple ones are either purple bloom russulas or viscid violet corts - both of which are edible but probably look better than they taste. the red guy may be a rather poisonous emetic russula. apparently it has a peppery taste and will make you vomit and have diarrhea. sooo if by changing perspective you mean getting to know your toilet a little better go ahead and take a bite. I would personally leave it to the slugs; they don't seem to mind the side effects.
just have some Ipecac readily available should you feel it will end in tears- or like the guy from Into the Wild...
